SENSORYEVALUATION

1、Flavor (Taste + Smell)
It is powderrish and tasty and healthy. It also smelt very appealing.

2、Color
The color is nice-looking because inside got lots of melted golden cheese.

3、Texture
it was rigid and damp. the cheese was gristly.
STRENGTHS of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
my strength was making the Flour become a circle as I had already done it before at home.WEAKNESSES of PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONmy weakness was frying the cheese because I don’t know when they would be cooked.

It is a little bit spicy because i add too much curry powder but still it tastes good.

I feel proud as i'm able to complete the dish in time and serve the food nicely and delicious.

I was not able to cut the chicken nicely and i could not managed to cut all the meat out of the bone.

I was just able to finish the coursework on time and the dish was not done very successfully.
It is just acceptable.

I'm not able to follow the instructions carefully but i tried my best and I was happy during the examination. I believe that I can do better next time.

Sensory Evalutation
A)Flavour ( taste + smell )
The bread tast a bit sour because I've put 2 pinches of salt on it.
The egg and tuna inside the bread taste sour and sweet as I put mayonnaise on both of them.
Colour
B) As you can see.... this bread is white..... and its sides are brown.
Texture
C) It is soft and smooth both on the inside and outside of the bread including the crust.
Strength Of my pratical examination
I have no trouble doing this pratical as I was making a sandwich.

-The colour is wonderful. It has neither pink nor red colour..:)

-Not dry and also not oily. Just normal..

-It tastes is nice and delicious.But....it smell is not so nice.

-It was decorated very pretty. It is not salty and taste is quite well.

-It smells is not good.

The food is delicious and nutritous at the same time . The aroma is nice and
the garnishes helps bring out the flavour of the dish .

there are alot of colors and the colors makes the dish
look more intresting .

c. Texture
The texture of the macroni is from hard to soft after boiled .
The whole dish is watery and the chicken is chewy-like .

I was able to finish the coursework on time
and the presentation of the dish is nice and very presentable .

Had a hard time boiling the chicken and the macaroni
took a longer time to boil than expected .

a.Flavour(Taste + smell)

Too salty because i added to much salt as i thought it would taste tasty and added to much salt but after eating the salty part and the aftertaste is nice. It smells good and very appetising

b.Color

The rice is brown as i added a bit of brown rice in it. But after that i added some Parmesan cheese and the color is much more nicer and the leaves on top make it look nicer as ther is brown, yellow and green.

c.Texture

The brown rice is a bit hard as it was not cook for too long but its still edible but i think that the rice should be a abit hard then its nice.

Strengths of the practical examinations

The food turns out great and the layout of the food is nice.

Weakness of the practical examinations

It was not done on time. As the brown rice was not so cook and needed a longer time to do it. But in the end it was done but not on time.

It is a plain soup with red carrot, cabbage and chicken making it colourful


2. Texture
Very watery


3. Flavour (Aroma + Taste)
A pit of plain taste with a bit of sweet and salty making it taste good



Strengths of Practical
I usally cook soup at home so cooking soup is a piece of cake nothing hard to me


Weakness of Practical
The soup need atleast 45mins to cook and have the best favour but the time mdm sri give us is only 30mins.

A)It tasted very good and healthy. it also smelt very appealing.

it looked very attractive because of the melted golden brown cheese.

it was firm and moist. the cheese was stringy

The dish taste like chicken soup as i added chicken stock, but i also add the macaroni so it will make it very full when we eat.
Colour
The colour is a little bright as i put in carrot, chilli and spring onions to make it taste better.
Texture
The macaroni is soft.

I manage my time well and I wasn't too panic when I was cooking.

The way i garnish the food is bad, so i want to improve on that.

Its yellowish in colour and the side of it is burn so it’s a bit dark

Its quite smooth on the surface , soft in the inside,

This Practical Examination let us experience the joy of preparing food that I want by myself .

a. Flavour (Taste + Smell)
The Pasta bolognese has a sweet taste for it has put in tomato paste,

However, it taste not like what my aunt had cook but it is still delicious.
The smell is not strong but a bit of smell from the meat.

b. Colour
The colour of it make a mixture of secondary colour and primary colour

for red and yellow is primary while the green take control of the top
making it a dish worth trying.

c. Texture
The texture is soft but not squishy and the meat has cooked to right time

making it chewy.


STRENGTHS of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
I was able to finish the work on time and does not required to fry the spaghetti
which would take up more time

WEAKNESSES of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
I trouble finding the right ingredient and this was not easy as it required both boiling and frying method which take up more time than i could have expected.

The taste was a bit hot as it was pataya sambal fried rice . Also , it has a mixed taste and there was mixed vegetables , eggs and chicken just like other fried rice .

Colour
It is made up of bright colours .

Texture
The texture is soft and moist .

STRENGTHS of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
I managed to make the dish in time and the taste was acceptable , rice was something I know how to fry and therefore there wasn’t any mistakes

3. WEAKNESSES of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
My egg was too small and therefore could not cover the rice completely just like other pataya fried rice . The light soy sauce was a bit overdosed

SENSORY EVALUATION
a. Flavour (Taste + Smell)
The taste of the rice is good, so is the smell. The ikan bilis are tasty and not so salty due to the addition of sugar. Tomatoes are used as garnish to add on to the dish. However, the egg is a little overcooked.

b. Colour
The colour of the rice is white and the ikan bilis are golden brown. The egg is yellowish white in colour.

c. Texture
The rice is a little watery but the ikan bilis is hard. The egg is a little crispy on the edges.

STRENGTHS of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
I am able to finish the task on time and came up with a good dish.

WEAKNESSES of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
I am not very sure when to stop cooking the rice and require assistance.

The dish taste spicy but with the fragance of corainder powder.

It is very salty and spicy but very appetizing.

The colour is redish orange.

It has coriander leaves on top of it as a garnish.


Texture

The fish is soft and smooth with the fragrance of coriander powder.


Strengths of pratical exam

I think that i had done well in the frying of the fish and the boiling of the sauce.

I am glad that i done a healthy dish as i feel that my dish is delicious.

SENSORY EVALUATION
a. Flavour (Taste + Smell)
Too oily due to use of too much margarine. Mayonnaise and boiled eggs give off its smell. The base of the pizza is well cooked and crispy. The Filling is well cooked too.


b. Colour
Boiled Eggs give the yellow and white colouring also, the mayonnaise give the white colour line pattern. Green Bell peppers are used to give the green colouring and to make it colourful. It also differentiates and makes the Smiley face stands out.

c. Texture
After leaving for sometimes, it turns oily at its base.


STRENGTHS of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
The practical is done on time as plan and successfully cooked the dish.


WEAKNESSES of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
Only it didn’t turn out to be so healthy due to the use of margarine which after being leave for sometimes, it turns oily.

It tasted very nice and delicious. It also smells nice and fragrance.

My pizza is golden brown in colour.

It is smooth and acceptable.

I was able to finish the coursework on time. It is a success in making the pizza. I have succeeded to follow the recipe correctly. I have also succeeded in the time management.

The taste of the rice is a bit salty, the taste of the chicken is very plain. The smell of the rice and chicken is very nice

The colour of the rice is white with black soya sauce on it. The coliur of the chicken is brown.

The rice is a bit soft and the texture of the chicken is very hard.

It tastes sweet. And it give off a smell that is quite pleasant it taste is acceptable

It color is brownish-black.

c. Texture
The chicken is quite chewy and the sauce that was on it is quite nice too.


STRENGTHS of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
It let us had a hand-on experiences and on the same time we can enjoy the whole process of cooking. It is not like any examination, it doesn’t restrict us to only a table and a chair. It allows us to move around to get ingredient and we may also check up on people foods as to see what they doing. We don’t have to keep quiet and do the examination. So it is quite nice to have a practical examination. Best part is, we don’t have to study for it.


WEAKNESSES of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
The time is not enough for me,as a result,i had to speed up the process of baking it in the oven,it supposed to take 40min but i reduce the time limit to only 20min. Other thing is still acceptable.

The taste is mixed. There is the sweetness of the carrot and the egg tastes not as sweet. When the flavours are mixed together its taste is unique. I added some salt to make it a little salty to have some more flavour.

It was lumpy.

I finished earlier than I planned to and I had enough time to clean up after.

I was a little bit unsure of what to do at first and did not get the equipments fast.

The taste is a little too sweet and the pancake is a little too salty. It smells a little like the original pancake but has a little smell of honey.

b. Colour
Its colour is yellowish on both side with the bottom side a little more brown compared to the uppers side.

c. Texture

Its texture is a rough on both side due to the putting lesser oil. But it is to make the pancake healthier.

STRENGTHS of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
I managed to cook the dish on time and successfully created a delicious dish. I made pancake before and thus have experience in cooking pancakes.

WEAKNESSES of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
I made quite a mess even when I had the experience but I managed to pass up the dish on time, I added a little too much oil making the pancake look greasy and oily.

Flavour(smell+taste)

It tastes sweet like tomatoes as I added tomatoes sauce into it.The chickens I added were plain.Overall,it tastes sweet but not spicy.It smells like a aroma of the herbs.

Colour

The colour was fresh orange.

Texture

For the pasta, it is soft to eat. But as for chickens,it is hard to chew as it is quite a big pieces. It is crispy for all the carrot as it is raw and fresh.

Strength of pratical exam

Everything goes well as I planned. The time was just nice. At least everything did not went out of time. It is a good experience for cooking!

Weakness of practical exam

For the pasta,it was too much for me. I thought it was just nice but ended up too much. The chickens were hard to eat should cook it longer.

It smells hot and it taste too sweet for a pudding as I add too much lemon grind.
It also has a sour taste as they are vanilla essence.

b. Colour
It has a bright yellow colour and some brownish on the side because of the cheese.
c. Texture
It has a smooth surface and the bread inside in soft and sweet.
STRENGTHS of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
The texture of the food and the taste is up to my expectation. I am very happy to have cook this dish as the taste is what I hope it to be.
WEAKNESSES of PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
I couldn't complete the food in time and had delayed for about 10minutes. The food is not as good as i expected. The food flooded out of the oven-proof dish which i didn't expect it to happen.

Coursework for Sec 2 Express

Hi Students!

I do hope you have had a great time executing your practical examination last week. Well, I did and I must say that I was very impressed by the level of commitment and enthusiasm displayed by your cohort. Keep it up!

However, we still need to complete one vey last assignment and that is EVALUATION. This last section of the coursework is basically a summary of what and how you have achieved your objective for the coursework.

Just to recap, the topic for your coursework was:
You can combine both fresh and processed foods to create nutritious and tasty dishes. Create an interesting one-dish meal using both fresh and processed food for a busy working adult.

Please also bear in mind that this evaluation has a total of 10 marks. So what do you have to do now? There are three sections to be completed:

  2. STRENGTHS of the PRACTICAL EXAM
  3. WEAKNESSES of the PRACTICAL EXAM
